Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, that is designed to stop the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message can be sent from one email, but to appear as being sent from another one, typically with the purpose to fraud the recipient for some reason. If SPF protection is enabled for a domain name, a specific record is generated for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers around the world receive it. The record features all of the e-mail servers that are allowed to send valid messages from an address within the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and in case the sending server is authorized, the message is sent to the targeted receiver. If, however, the sending server is not present in the SPF record for the given domain, the message won't be forwarded and it'll be discarded. If you employ this service, it'll prevent third parties from sending spam e-mails which seem to have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Website Hosting

The SPF protection option is available by default with each website hosting package that we offer and you can use it without any difficulty so as to protect the e-mail addresses for each domain hosted as part of your account. The service is operated from the Emails section of our innovative, yet intuitive Hepsia Control Panel. All you need to enable the protection is to type in the IP of the e-mail server as well as its hostname - mail.server.com, for instance. The moment the protection is active, only this server will be able to send email messages from email addresses made under the domain that you've selected. Your email addresses can be taken care of by some other supplier, but when we handle them together with your website, you can also activate an option for your email messages to be sent only if the domain features our MX records. This solution provides you with improved security as just our server will be approved to send out messages from your mailboxes and you will have improved control. If you have any kind of questions or in case you experience any sort of issues with this service, you'll be able to contact our tech support team at any time and they'll give you a hand right away.
